DIMAPUR, Dec 29 - Border Peace Coordination Committee (Assam-Nagaland) held a peace and goodwill meeting at Darikial village in Nakachari under Jorhat district to instill a conducive atmosphere amongst the people living in the Assam-Nagaland border areas.
The meeting held recently was mainly called to deliberate on the news about Government of India�s proposal of inking a final Naga peace accord and the confusion and fear psychosis in the minds of the people.
A release issued by BPCC(A-N) said members from either side opined that there are certain forces creating such confusions in the minds of the peace loving people.
BPCC(A-N) executive member Pabon Gogoi from Medeluajan said the yearly friendly volleyball tournament between Naga villages of Changpang sector in Wokha district of Nagaland and the bordering villages of Titabar sub-division in Jorhat district since 2003 was successfully conducted this year too.
Mediapersons attending the meet opined that Centre is assuring that in inking the final Naga peace accord, the territorial integrity of the NE States would not be compromised which is said by none other than the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country.
Under the circumstances, BPCC(A-N) appealed to all concerned at different levels from either side to maintain peace.
