Booney files nomination for Shillong seat

SHILLONG, March 19 - THS Booney of the regional Khun Hyyniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) today filed his nomination papers for the Shillong Parliamentary seat.

Along with his supporters and the KHNAM chief, Adelbert Nongrum, Booney filed his papers at the district commissioner�s office. After filing his nomination papers, Booney said that resolving the boundary dispute with Assam, improving the education scenario and developing the rural sector would be the areas on which he would give his thrust.

Meanwhile, sitting Shillong MP Vincent Pala is yet to file his nomination. The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance candidate, Jemino Mawthoh, and Independent candidate, Samuel Hashah, have also not filed their nominations yet.
