BONGAIGAON, Nov 7 - AKRSU president Hiteswar Barman released a book, a collection of articles relating to the historical background of Koch-Rajbongshi people, at Greater Bongaigaon Press Club here on Sunday.
The 160-page book titled, Itihas Bitarka aru Koch Rajbongshir atmoniyantranor prashna contains 21 articles on historical background of the Koch-Rajbongshis penned by different writers of the community. The Akhor Prakash, Guwahati has published the book which was edited by Utpal Singha and Troilokya Ray, youth leaders of the community.
Releasing the book, Barman spoke about the evil intention of a section of intellectuals belonging to a particular community to force their history over the history of Koch-Rajbongshis. He warned that their evil intention would not be tolerated now on.
Being present as a guest at the book releasing ceremony, Dr Ramesh Kalita, a former head of the History department of Tezpur College, explained about the threat faced by the small linguistic minorities of the State due to disturbed existence of the greater Assamese community.
Kamal Kumar Medhi, owner of the publishing house, said that this book would be able to counter the evil designs of those rulers and intellectuals of a particular community who has been trying to distort the history of the Koch-Rajbongshis.
