GUWAHATI, June 9 - A book titled Amsangor Ussed, co-authored by Kishore Kumar Kalita, Subrata Talukdar and Abhinava Das, was released at a function held at the Gauri Sadan here today by former B Borooah College principal Dr Dinesh Baishya and regional director of the Action Aid Association Mrinal Gohain.
The book discusses the eviction drive launched by the administration in the Amsang area in November last year. It focuses on the migration of people who were evicted from the Amsang area and their socio-economic life. It also analyses the issues that came up in a Gauhati High Court public interest litigation case in this connection.
The book is published by the city-based Centre for Land, Agrarian Studies and Policy Analysis, said a press release.
