GUWAHATI, June 28 - The Department of History, Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza launched the book Rethinking Colonialism and Globalisation, the Historical Saga of India from the 19th Century Onwards, edited by Dr Madhuri Saikia, faculty in the Department of History of the College, on Wednesday.
The book is the outcome of an international conference organised by the Department of History in April 2016 under the same theme, a press release said.
The book release function was attended by the president of the college governing body Prof Robin Goswami, College Principal Dr Ramesh Chandra Kalita, Vice-Principal Dr Phanindra Chandra Thakuria, Rector of Gauhati University Prof Hari Prasad Sarma, Mission Director of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Assam, Madhurima Barua Sen, Dr Sukanya Sharma, Associate Professor of IIT Guwahati and Dipjyoti Thakuria, engineer at RUSA. The book has been published by DVS Publishers, Guwahati.
