BONGAIGAON, June 18 - A team of Bongaigaon police led by Sub Inspector Paulus Narzary rescued a local woman from Haryana and brought her last night to Bongaigaon along with her facebook friend.
The woman, a mother of one, had gone missing on March 29 from Bongaigaon. Her family had lodged a missing report at Bongaigaon Police Station on April 14.
At last the police got some clues and accordingly left for Haryana via Delhi on June 13 and rescued the woman and nabbed her facebook friend Jogendra alias Toni Verma (38) who had taken the woman to Haryana from Bongaigaon to marry her.
Jogendra was sent to judicial custody after he was produced before the court after a case, no. 236/2019 under IPC section 366, was registered at Bongaigaon Police Station against him. The woman was handed over to her parents after recording her statement.
