Bongaigaon, Silchar, NFR, Tezpur in control

GUWAHATI, June 20 - The second round matches of the two-day quarterfinal league phase in the Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament for the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy got underway in four venues today.

At Barpeta, Bongaigaon (144) took 50-run first innings lead against Karimganj (94) while at the Judges� Field here, Tezpur scored 250 in the first innings and in reply Golaghat were 18 for one.

At Biswanath Chariali, NF Railway Sports Association were 156 for three at stumps on the opening day. Silchar folded their innings at 250 in the first innings and in reply Sivasagar were 63 for three at the end of the opening day.
