MORIGAON, Oct 6 � Bongaigaon became proud winners of the Pilik Choudhury Memorial Inter District School (U-14) Football Tournament in its 15th edition. In a keenly contested final played at the Khirod Baruah Stadium here today, Bongaigaon posted a 1-0 victory against Sivasagar. Sunit Rabha fired the match winner in the 10th minute of the match.
It was a fast-paced encounter as the ball swung from one end to another quite frequently. But the strikers of both the teams were not skilled enough in shooting at goal. Pallab Phukan and Nayandeep Gogoi of Sivasagar were adjudged best player of the tournament and final respectively. In the closing function noted sports person Suren Ram Phookun and Joint Director of Sports Rajib Prakash Baruah gave away the champion and runners up trophies respectively.
