Bongaigaon BJP workers unhappy over alliance

By Correspondent

BONGAIGAON, March 3 - Protesting against the alliance with the AGP, the local BJP workers today agitated in front of the partys district office here at Barpara. The party workers burnt posters and banners of the party and ransacked the office last evening, following which SSB personnel were deployed in the office premises since this morning to protect the office from any unexpected damage caused by the offended party workers.

We would never support the AGP candidate and local legislator Phani Bhusan Chaudhury in the ensuing polls. We would find an alternative to this within next one or two days, said Basudev Barman, general secretary of Bongaigaon district unit of the BJP.

Another senior most politician and a BJP activist, who had experiences as an AGP and Congress party leader, expressed his displeasure over the poll alliance and said that he would soon take a final decision as he had already lost faith on the partys leadership.

BJPs women workers said that they would also never support an AGP candidate and go for other options.

However, not a single office bearer of the AGP in its district office came forward to talk on this matter when some mediapersons visited their office. Only an AGP worker was busy sharing his joy with a few co-members of the party saying, BJP has been wiped out in the district in a single day.

But Congress workers were seen happy due to this political development. They were optimistic of winning the Bongaigaon seat if the party fields a candidate with a clean image.
