SHILLONG, April 29 - The bomb disposal squad today detonated a container near the Deputy Commissioner�s Office in the Meghalaya capital here this afternoon but it turned out to be a tiffin box!
As soon as the suspicious container was detected, the bomb disposal squad rushed to the area. The area was cordoned off causing a huge traffic snarl.
The squad without taking chances detonated the box open at the spot with remote control devices causing panic amongst the public.
�We took no chances and detonated the container at the site,� a senior officer of the bomb disposal squad said.
