Bomb hurled at newspaper office, one hurt

SHILLONG, Feb 12 (PTI): A petrol bomb was hurled last night at a prominent vernacular newspaper office in the city by unidentified attackers.

The bomb broke a window pane and exploded inside the newsroom of Nongsain Hima, a Khasi daily, at around 9 pm, creating panic in the area.

A DTP operator sustained minor injuries, while two computer sets and a scanner were damaged, editor Lam Thabah told PTI.

Police officials led by DSP Vivek Syeim have rushed to the spot. They said office staff claimed to have saw a man running after lobbing the bomb.

SP (City) Claudia Lyngwa said as of now, nothing can be said and investigation was on.
