Bodybuilders hold online meeting

GUWAHATI, June 5 - The online executive committee meeting of the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association was held yesterday.

The meeting was presided over by working president Prasanta Bora. All the executive members were present in the webinar and took decisions on some agenda.

As all the gymnasiums under Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association were closed for last three months it became a serious problem for gym owners, trainers and other related persons. The members have decided to request the Assam Government to take necessary steps for reopening the gyms and give compensation to all affected people related with the fitness industry of Assam.

The meeting proposed to hold the 48th Assam State Body Building Championship at Nagaon in the month of December.

Some vacant posts of the organisation were also filled in the meeting. Nagaon MLA Rupak Sharma has been nominated as vice-president while Ananta Gogoi of Biswanath, Arup Bora of Nagaon were appointed as joint secretaries. Bipul Kumar of NF Railway, Deepen Bora of Lakhimpur became new EC members.

Bhabajyoti Goswami, general secretary of the organisation conducted the webinar with the help of Assam Olympic Association officials.
