IMPHAL, June 19 - Womenfolk blocked the Khangabok area on the busy Imphal-Moreh road to protest against the alleged murder of a girl, on Sunday.

The body of Elangbam Kanon (22) of Khangaabok Part II Khullakpa Leikai under Thoubal district was recovered from the Thoubal canal around 9 am today. The locality formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing and has demanded justice.

A decision was also taken not to claim the body till the accused are booked and punished.

The girl was reported missing since June 11 after she came out of her residence. Meanwhile, the body has been sent to RIMS mortuary for post-mortem.

Workshop held: A workshop on Organic farming � a way to sustainable livelihood in Manipur was held under the aegis of Dr Thingnam Kishan Foundation (DTKF) and Midas Touch at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday. Senior scientist, Regional Centre for Organic Farming Dr V Pandey spoke on organic certification: principles and procedures.
