JORHAT, Oct 31 - The mutilated body of a youth was found on Tuesday morning near the Borpathar Railway Station in Dhansiri subdivision (Civil) of Golaghat district.
A police source said that the deceased � identified as Girindra Sahu, a resident of Borpathar � was a second semester degree student of a local college, and a resident of No.1 Premhara village under Borpathar Police Station. He reportedly went out of his house around 9 pm on Monday after reportedly receiving a phone call and did not return, the source stated. As family members started searching for him throughout the night, his body was recovered near the railway station the next morning, the source said.
Police investigation was under way and officials have not ruled out murder, the source said. Meanwhile, the Borpathar AASU unit submitted a memorandum to the Dhansiri subdivisional (Civil) administration seeking a proper probe into the case. The deceased was also a member of the AASU unit of Borpathar.
