Body exhumed at Ledo coalfield

TINSUKIA, Sept 13 - Acting on a tip-off, Margherita police dug out the body of a 14-year-old boy, Etul Das, at midnight of September 11 at the Ledo Tirap colliery of North Eastern Coalfields, Coal India Ltd.

The boy had been missing since September 9 after going to work in the coal dumping ground of the colliery near Mullung Pahar with some other persons. He was living with his father, Babul Das in a rented house near the colliery. Babul Das hails from Panigaon, Amtola of Lakhimpur district.

On the other hand, on September 11, the body of an unidentified man, packed in a bag, was found in Tirap river. As the man was wearing a pair of boots used for digging coal, it was suspected that the person had worked illegally in coalfields.
