BARAMA, Feb 28 � As many as 47 Bodo people hailing from Bangladesh were formally felicitated in a meeting held at Barama recently.
The meeting held on the occasion was organised by the All Bodo Students� Union, Barama unit and Barama Primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha. The members of ABSU Barama, Barama Bodo Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Woman Federation, Barama Anchalik Bothou Mahasabha Committee, Barama provided �arnai�, felicitation patras to the 47 Bodo people coming from Bangladesh. The members of leading Bodo organisations of Barama exchanged their views and sought friendship among each other. Mithinga Daimary, the former publicity secretary of ULFA addressing the meet welcomed the Bodo people who came from Bangladesh and sought friendship and unity among the Bodo people of the two countries.
The Bodo people of Bangladesh exhibited traditional Haba dance and bottle dance. Bodo people belonging to Barak Kachari Solidarity (NGO), Bangladesh, Tripura Kalyan Sangha, Borok People of Bangladesh felicitated Bodo people of Barama belonging to different organisations in Barama. Maneswar Boro, MLA of Barama, Munsing Brahma, Myswam Boro, Bijit Gwra Narjary (MCLA), Deobar Ramchiary, secretary of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Baksa district, Ranjit Swargiary, president of ABSU, Barama, Champak Boro, Lachit Narjary, Bharati Boro among others also participated in the meeting.
