Bodofa Cultural Complex inaugurated at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, July 6 � BTC chief Hangrama Mohilary inaugurated the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar in the presence of BTC executive members, MCLAs, MP, other officials and the general public recently.

The cultural complex has many parts like an auditorium, art gallery and Sangeet Natak Academy museum, Open Air Theatre, Bodo Traditional Craft Village, Craftsmen�s Hostel, Food Court, administrative building and staff quarters etc., which will go a long way in preserving and propagating the rich cultural heritage of the Bodo people.

The modern and beautiful cultural complex is ideally located on around 100 bighas of land by the side of Gaurang river and will definitely be a spot of attraction for tourists. The centrally air-conditioned auditorium is equipped with all modern facilities and is worth mentioning for its huge sitting capacity. �As far as we know, it is the largest auditorium in the entire North-East region with around 1200 seats�, said Chiranjib Sarkar, the project coordinator of M/s Luit Valley Engineering Pvt. Ltd, Guwahati, the contractor agency which built the complex. Sarkar further informed that around Rs 20 crore has been spent on this project and the fund has been sponsored by DoNER Ministry under the BTC central package.
