SHILLONG, May 24 Former Bangladesh Minister and opposition BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmeds aides have filed an advance bail application even as the former is recuperating in a Government hospital here.

Ahmed was referred to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) for treatment of his health complications after he was found mysteriously and arrested in the State Capital here sometime back.

An aide of Ahmed said that the advance bail application was moved so that when the Bangladesh political leader is produced before the Court his bail application is also be taken into consideration. Ahmed is accused of entering into India without valid documents.

The family members of Ahmed and his close aides are here to oversee his treatment and release. Doctors at NEIGRIHMS have said that Ahmed is undergoing medical checks so that his health condition improves.

I would say that Ahmed is getting the best of medical care in Shillong. We thank the Indian Government for that, an aide of Ahmed said.
