RANGIYA, Aug 25 - Members of Baidyagarh unit AASU and joint forum of APOL Mill Workers� Association staged a strong protest and blocked the Rangiya-Bhutan road at Tulsibari here in demand of revival of the APOL mill.
Protesters shouted slogans and flayed the government for not initiating early action for revival of the mill, which has remained inoperational since 2016 following financial crisis and heavy debts.
AASU central committee office secretary Dharmeswar Das, Kamrup dist secretary Hemanta Das, other AASU leaders besides worker association leaders and members participated in the protest.
Vehicular communication came to a standstill and heavy traffic on the road was witnessed following the blockade.
Earlier, protesters displayed placards and obstructed the movement of vehicles.
