BJP workers urged to strengthen party base

BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 8 - Assam BJP president Ranjeet Dass said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in the State has been working for the overall development of the people. Dass was addressing a meeting of the party workers held on the Karmaveer Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Memorial Community Hall and Library premises at Karara on Wednesday.

�So far, the government has been successful in bringing changes in the form of development of various sectors like education, healthcare, etc., with the active support and participation of the public. The government will maintain this pace of development,� Dass said.

The BJP president called upon the party workers to work hard for the interest of the public and strengthen organisational activities of the party to emerge victorious in the forthcoming panchayat elections.

In his speech, Dilip Saikia, party�s State general secretary, said the people of Kamalpur LAC want a BJP member to be elected as MLA in the next Assembly elections in the State, as it would also hasten development activities in this backward area.

Participating in the meeting as guest, Bhabesh Kalita, MLA, Rangiya LAC, urged the party workers to maintain friendly relations with the grassroots level workers to make the party strong.

The meeting was held under the aegis of Bihdia-Jajikona Mandal BJP Committee and presided over by Ramesh Deka, president, North Kamrup District Committee of the party.

Other BJP leaders like Diganta Kalita, Kamal Deka, Nripen Deka, Upen Deka, Ramen Das and a few others also took part in the meeting. Members of the Mahila Morcha were also present in the same.
