TEZPUR, May 23 - BJP candidate Pallab Lochan Das won from the Tezpur Lok Sabha seat defeating the Congress candidate and a former bureaucrat MGVK Bhanu by a huge margin.
According to a report, Bhanu polled 3, 23, 233 votes, while the BJP candidate, Pallab Lochan Das got 5, 27, 848 votes. However, formal declaration is yet to be made in this regard.
The saffron party maintained a healthy lead in all the 9 LACs under the Tezpur HPC.
Meanwhile, The party workers of BJP were seen celebrating vijay utsab outside the counting hall of Darrang College campus here as well as in their Majgaon District office. District President, Dr Birendra Kumar Nath mentioned that this victory shows that voters are now with the BJP for its development agenda. �They ( voters) have given another chance to the BJP so that the party can carry our more developmental works in the future,� he said.
