By CORRESPONDENT

MORIGAON, April 12 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that the BJP will win majority of the seats in Lok Sabha polls in the State and the people of Assam will give it a clear mandate.

Addressing a poll campaign meeting at Morigaon School field today, Sonowal said that development will be the main plank of his party and people of Assam know well whom to vote. Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government has approved many development packages for the State and the need of the hour is to give a mandate to BJP to form the next government at Delhi, he added. The Chief Minister further said that Congress is irrelevant in todays politics and people will throw them out of the power throughout the country.

The State Health Minister Piyush Hazarika and Morigaon MLA Rama Kanta Deori also addressed the gathering.

On the other hand, Congress candidate Pradyut Bordoloi addressing a public meeting at Morigaon Bihutoli dwelt at length about the Congress manifesto in the Parliamentary poll. Bordoloi said that BJP is a communal party and it will destroy the democratic, secular fabric of the country if it came to power. He said that the sinister move to introduce the CAB in Indian parliament was foiled by the Congress and his party will throw out the proposed Act which may ruin Assamese nationality in the future.
