GUWAHATI, Dec 9 � Protesting against the increasing crime in the capital city, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Guwahati city district unit today took out a procession demanding of the government to ensure security of life and property of the denizens.
The party also submitted a memorandum to the Director General of Police, Assam insisting immediate steps to revamp the entire police force to ensure efficiency in controlling the law-and-order situation in the city.
The party said that in the recent years, the law-and-order situation in Guwahati has worsened and the criminals were calling the shots.
�With each passing day the crime graph is rising alarmingly and above all, car-lifting incidents in the city have escalated to such an extent that car owners are now a panicked lot. Crime against women was also increasing in the city.�
