AGARTALA, Feb 11 - With one week left for the electoral battle in Tripura, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday unveiled partys vision document promising the 7th Central Pay Commission benefits to State Government employees and resolving of 10,323 teachers problem at the earliest.
Free smart phones to youth, free education for women till graduation, one employment to each household and regularisation of contractual government employees were some other promises in the document.
Most importantly, the party also promised to look into the socio-cultural-economic development of indigenous people as it has figured in the joint statement between BJP and Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT).
If the BJP forms the government after the elections, the first Cabinet will offer 7th CPC to the State Government employees, who are now getting pay package of 4th CPC, according to the vision document. Besides, minimum basic wages will be enhanced to Rs 340 per day to meet the national standards.
One employment opportunity to each household and free education for women till graduation will be implemented if the peoples mandate goes in favour of BJP in the coming election, said Jaitley after unveiling the vision document here.
As part of good governance, the BJP if voted to power will order investigation against those who are involved in chit fund scams to ensure justice to lakhs of poor people.
Admitting that BJP had limited presence in the State in the last Assembly elections, Jaitley said the party has consolidated its position by filling the vacuum left by the former opposition party. Politics is like nature.. There is no vacuum.. It will be filled automatically, he said.
The BJP has been putting all out efforts to bring a change in the State which has not witnessed development to the expected level during the Marxist regime, he alleged adding that the party wants to bring the State on the right path of development.
The CPI (M) has been ruling the State for long years but where is the development? Tripura is still laggard in core sectors like agriculture, human resources and healthcare. A terror regime is prevailing in the State affecting the normal growth of the State, he said.
Upholding Modis developmental politics, Jaitley said the BJP had implemented the recommendation of 7th CPC without any trouble and maximum States had already followed it. Tripura Government could avail the benefit of 7th CPC recommendations as other States did. The Narendra Modi Government doesnt consider political colour when it comes to States legitimate share, he said.
Jaitley further said job opportunity will never increase in Tripura if the Left skips private investment. Private investment is the key to create jobs but the government has not made serious efforts to attract investment, he alleged.
On being asked about the State being deprived of getting plan money under NITI Aayog, the Union Minister said the Centre doesnt believe in regional disparity when it comes to Central share.
To another query, Jaitley assured the 90:10 funding formula for NE States and three other hill States will continue as long as BJP-led NDA Government remains in power.
