GUWAHATI, Aug 1 � The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Asom Pradesh has intensified its drive to strengthen the organisation as well as to create awareness amongst the general public on the coming Assembly elections.
A party functionary informed that as many citizens in the State are not aware about the process of getting their names enrolled in the voters list, the BJP has launched the awareness campaign to establish true democracy in the State.
Keeping an eye on the Assembly elections, the BJP Guwahati district committee on Sunday opened a office in Beltola Tiniali, under ward no 58, Dispur constituency to ensure that cent percent voting is recorded in this constituency.
�The citizens are not aware about the election process. This office will help the citizens to get their names enrolled in the voters list,� said Mrigen Sarania, general secretary, BJP Guwahati district committee adding that it was important to make people conscious about their duty to exercise their franchise.
The party�s youth leader Jayanta Kumar Das who inaugurated the office said that the people of the State should make use of the coming Assembly elections to establish democracy in the State. Das added that the ruling Congress is patronizing corruption and the illegal migrants at the cost of all the indigenous communities.
The party will open offices in all the wards under Dispur constituency by August 5 for the benefit of the electorates.
