GUWAHATI, May 18 - With an eye on next years Assam Assembly polls, the ruling BJP today said that it will seek feedback from the masses of all 126 constituencies of the State to prepare report cards of all the legislators, including its own, as well as those belonging to other parties.
Addressing a press conference here, State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that a website and a Whatsapp number have been launched using which the people will be able to provide feedback regarding the performance of their local legislators as well as express their views and opinions of problems and issue of their constituencies, beside making suggestions on improving their localities.
It will be applicable for both constituencies represented by the BJP and its alliance partners as well as seats where the legislators belong to opposition Congress and AIUDF.
The report cards will be handed over directly to our partys national president JP Nadda, said Dass.
He hinted that in case of BJP MLAs, their fate during allocation of tickets prior to the 2021 Assembly elections will depend a lot on the feedback and performance report received from the voters.
Only a few months remain for the next Assembly elections, and therefore, Nadda has told us to compile reports regarding all the 126 constituencies of the State, Dass said.
It is noteworthy that the ruling NDA, which also includes the AGP, BPF and a couple of minor local parties, has earlier set a target to win at least 100 seats in the 2021 Assembly elections.
