NEW DELHI, March 4 � Declaring that emotional integration of the North East with rest of the country would be accorded top priority, BJP national president Rajnath Singh said an action plan is proposed to be drafted for overall development of the region.
The BJP national president was addressing a sit-in-demonstration by Assam unit of the BJP at Jantar Mantar on Monday. The protest meeting was addressed by the State BJP�s four MPs, State president Sarbananda Sonowal, among others.
Promising that illegal infiltration from Bangladesh is on the party�s main agenda, Singh stressed that illegal migrants should be detected and deported and the NRC should be updated. It is on the basis of the updated NRC that illegal migrants can be identified.
Recalling that a separate ministry was established during the BJP-led NDA Government, the BJP national president said that there was urgent need to develop North East.
He said a comprehensive Action Plan is proposed to be drafted by the BJP for the North East.
