BARPETA, April 10 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win eight to ten seats in the BTAD election and play a crucial role in the formation of the council, claimed Ranjit Kumar Das, MLA, Sarbhog, on Thursday. He said that nobody can ignore the BJPs importance in the formation of the BTC.

Talking to reporters here, Das said that his party is open to all parties for an alliance barring the Congress and the AIUDF. He made it clear that except these two parties, the BJP is ready to arrive at an understanding with any party in the greater interest of the BTAD areas.

As far as alliance with other parties is concerned, Das claimed that several regional outfits have contacted the party leadership. However, he declined to name any such party. It was evident from his statement that either the Sanmilita Janagosthiya Oikya Mancha or the BPF may be the partner of the BJP in the formation of the next BTC.
