NEW DELHI, Feb 26 � The BJP Parliamentary Board is likely to take a call on its alliance with Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Thursday.
A top leader of the BJP confirmed that the issue of a possible tie-up with the AGP is on the agenda of the Parliamentary Board. However, the major hurdle appears to be the opposition of the State unit of the BJP, which has adopted a resolution opposing an alliance with the AGP.
Senior State BJP leaders are reportedly on their way to Delhi to press with the central leadership against the alliance.
Sources said that the BJP is likely to ask the regional party to clarify about its position on the AIUDF. �If we do go ahead with the alliance then the AGP has to severe all its ties with the AIUDF,� he said.
