BJP to absorb sacked teachers if it wins Tripura polls

By Prabir Sil

AGARTALA, Sept 18 - Amidst growing confusion over the fate of 10,323 sacked teachers, BJP on Sunday said all of them will be absorbed under the ambit of Constitution if the party is voted to power in the 2018 Assembly elections in Tripura.

Not only 10,323 teachers, over seven lakh registered unemployed youth have been spending sleepless nights due to faulty recruitment policy adopted by the Marxist Government, said BJP State president Biplab Deb.

Addressing a press conference in the party headquarters here, he said, altogether 2.10 lakh unemployed youth had applied for the teaching jobs but only 10,323 were selected by flouting the Constitution and Right to Education Act 2009.

Whenever the government made any appointment be it teaching job or Asst. Professor, deprived candidates knocked the door of the court seeking justice and the court rejected the appointment, he pointed out.

This is because of faulty appointment policy of the State Government prepared at the behest of Melarmath, he alleged. Deb said Debasish Paul Chowdhury, who had filed a contempt case in Supreme Court in regard to the State Governments move to fill up 12,000 non-teaching posts in Education department, has sought DGP AK Suklas intervention to save his life.

Over 150 people entered into the house of Paul Chowdhury at Charilam on Saturday, a day after Education Minister Tapan Chakarbortys angry statement on the issue, he said.

Right to live is a fundamental right of a citizen. This is very unfortunate that fundamental right is being taken away under the Manik Sarkar regime, he pointed out.

Deb said both the Chief Minister and the Education Minister must answer to the 27 lakh people.

If BJP comes to power in the next Assembly elections, not only seventh CPC will be implemented, but all the sacked teachers will be accommodated as per the rule of law of the land, he said.

On being asked about leaking of BJP prabhari Sunil Deodhars personal email to the HRD Ministry on the job issue, Deb said let the dust get settled, then the party will take a decision whether a formal complaint is lodged or not.

Deb also condemned the attack on BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman at Bitirban area under Ramnagar outpost on Sunday. If an MLA is attacked in his own constituency, the people will judge if law and order is okay or not, he added.
