BJP thanks State farmers for supporting agri Acts

By Correspondent

SIVASAGAR, Oct 10 - Thanking the people of Assam for supporting the three Agriculture Acts implemented by the NDA government, BJP spokesman Pabitra Margherita today said that the Assam farmers will get over Rs 199 crore under the Prime Ministers Kisan Sanman Nidhi (PMKSN) and Rs 6000 per year as minimum income support.

Margherita said that 3,12,629 KCCs have been issued so far in the State. The Modi led farmer-friendly Acts Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, Framers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services and Essential Commodities Act, 2020 have received wide acceptance from Kanyakumari to Arunachal Pradesh. Referring to the farmers protests in Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra, Margherita said that in those States the farming community is controlled by Opposition party activists who had long been enjoying huge amount of money as middlemen depriving the farmers of the benefits. They are now frustrated as farmers have widely come out to support the Modi governments policies. In Assam also, the Congress and the Left parties are crying hoarse over the issue without getting any support from the common people, he added. Fortunately for Assam, rice production in the State will go up this year and the farmers are getting Rs 18,068 per ton of rice against Rs 13,010 five years back, he said. The Minimum Support Price is there and will always be there and has not been withdrawn and the Opposition is trying to fool the farmers with wrong information, Margherita said.

The meeting was attended among others by Surovi Rajkumari, president, district BJP unit and BJP leaders Pranjal Kotoky and Hemanta Gogoi.
