SILCHAR, Dec 10 - The BJP leadership will meet at a two-day State executive meeting to be held on December 26 in Karimganj.
Silchar MP and BJP state general secretary Dr Rajdeep Roy said that the saffron party was aiming to win the seats in the Barak valley and the neighbouring Dima Hasao district and rejuvenate the workers at the grassroots.
He said the BJP is expecting much better results in the 2021 Assembly elections. Asked about the time taken for implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the Silchar MP said the process has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and not due to a lack of political will.
Subrata Bhattacharjee, president of the Karimganj district BJP unit, said 526 executive members will attend the meeting. Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli along with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will also attend.
