BJP state executive meet concludes

JORHAT, Oct 11 - The two-day state BJP executive, which was attended by top brass of the state led by state party chief Ranjeet Dass and the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with his cabinet colleagues from the party, concluded in Majuli today with the party adopting several resolutions.

The party also slammed the Congress party and various organisations for spreading misinformation among the people on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016.

The meet resolved to undertake a strong aggressive campaign to counter false propaganda carried out by Congress and other organizations against the Bill.

The resolution urged the people of the state to wait for the report of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

Stating that the party was committed to making the state free from illegal migrants, the party wanted a correct updated NRC list having names of all genuine Indian citizens.

Regarding the ensuing Parliamentary polls slated for early next year, the meet decided to have discussions with all the regional political parties to fight unitedly the elections.

BJP national general secretary Ram Lal also attended the meet in which over 400 delegates were present.
