BJP spreading hatred to retain power: Azad

By Staff Correspondent

SILCHAR, March 6 - Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister Ghulam Navi Azad has slammed the BJP saying that the party is desperate to retain its dominance by spreading hatred and chaos in the country.

In his address to woo the Congress workers at Banskandi ahead of the Lok Sabha polls on Tuesday, the seasoned Congress leader said that the nation is passing through tense times and the incidents surfacing are detrimental for the people and the country as a whole.

Unlike the BJP, which is doing the politics to come back to power, the Congress has always put the interest of the nation and its people in the forefornt, Azad maintained.

It may be mentioned that around 50 men from the AIUDF had joined the Congress party in the meeting in which Azad had expressed confidence on the possibility of sitting MP from Silchar Susmita Dev registering a massive win in the ensuing polls.

Susmita Dev also addressed the sizeable gathering on the occasion.
