BJP slams Govt on teachers salary issue

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 2 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh today slammed the ruling Congress in the State for being apathetic towards the grievances of the teaching fraternity and urged the government to address the problems of the teachers at the earliest.

The saffron party, while referring to the ongoing protests of teachers in various parts of the State, including Guwahati, said it was unfortunate that the teachers had to come out on to the streets to register their anger and demands.

Teachers are the sculptors of our future. But regrettably they have been compelled to take to the path of agitation. A section of teachers havent even got their salary for the last 45 months. We urge the Tarun Gogoi government not to play politics with the issues of the teaching community, said the party.
