BJP says �politics of development� main motto

BONGAIGAON, June 27 - BJP�s State unit general secretary Pulak Borgohain addressed a news conference at Greater Bongaigaon Press Club here on Tuesday and highlighted the successful completion of four-year and two-year term of the party-led governments at the Centre and the State, respectively.

�Politics of development� had found its way and the �politics of corruption�, practised by the Congress, ended after the Narendra Modi-led government had assumed power in the country, Borgohain said.

He also said that the Congress government had deprived the poor and the marginalised section of people of getting banking facility during its rule, but the Modi government had helped them to get the opportunity through launching �Jana Dhan Scheme�.

While addressing a press conference at Kajalgaon in Chirang district, BJP�s State leader Queen Oja also talked about the development works carried out by the government.

In a reply to a question, Oja said that legislators of the BTAD are not taking the problems of the local people seriously, because they do not want these people to be unaware of everything so that they (legislators) can manage them easily as per the need. She further said that she would discuss all the public issues of Chirang district with the ministers at Dispur.

North Lakhimpur correspondent adds: The North Lakhimpur unit of the BJP highlighted the successful completion of four-year and two-year term of the party-led governments at the Centre and the State, respectively. A press meet was held at North Lakhimpur Press Club on Tuesday on the occasion.

The meet was attended by BJP�s state secretary Kishore Upadhyay and State executive member of the BJP Deepak Saikia. Addressing the media, the BJP leaders claimed that the Central government led by Prime Minister Nardendra Modi had been strong against corruption and actions against the APSC scam in Assam is one example of such moves.

The BJP leaders presented a 35-point chart highlighting the achievements of the Central and State governments like establishment of cancer hospitals in Assam with Tata Trust, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Mission Ujjwala, Stand Up India, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jan Dhan Account, Mission Antyodaya, success of GST and various schemes for minority women, including residential educational scholarships.

The press meet was also attended by BJP�s Jayanta Saikia, Santanu Borgohain and Tapash Kumar Deb.
