GUWAHATI, March 25 - Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley released the Assam Vision Document of the BJP on Friday at a function held here asserting that the alliance led by the BJP will have a landslide victory in the Assembly elections.
Addressing media persons, the Union Minister said the alliance is confident of victory as several factors have emerged in the political sphere that is strongly indicating that the electorate will give the mandate for change. He expressed that a desire for a change is sweeping across the entire State as the people of Assam have been fed up with sloganeering and hollow promises.
�The Assembly election is an opportunity to oust the failed Congress government. All the anti-Congress forces have come on a common platform to ensure that expectation of people for a change comes true,� said Jaitley, adding that the Vision Document, which the party has prepared, is nothing but a reflection of the aspirations of the people of Assam.
Jaitley revealed that the BJP�s Vision Document is the result of a participatory method wherein citizens provided their suggestions on different issues like agriculture, industry, infrastructure, security concerns, etc., thus setting the priorities and agenda for their political representatives. �Every word in the document would be implemented by the BJP. The document gives emphasis to issues such as insurgency and terrorism, Assam Accord and infiltration, poverty alleviation, employment generation, human resource development, women development, etc. Assam is ready for a change and the youth of the State is leading the campaign for change,� stressed the Union Minister.
On the other hand, the Union Minister refuting charges of fund curtailment levelled against the Central Government by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that this is just a ploy of the Congress to mislead the people. �A failed government is trying to find excuses where none exists,� said Jaitley.
Addressing the press conference, State BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal assured that the resources of the State will be utilized to make Assam one of the most developed and frontline states of the country. �With support of the people we will achieve this target by optimum utilization of each of the invaluable resources of the State,� promised Sonowal.
