AIZAWL, July 9 - BJP Mizoram Pradesh on Friday said it will go ahead with the practice of Yoga since it deals with physical exercise and mental health and do not have any direct religious connectivity.
In a party political session held at the party office here on Friday, BJP Mizoram Pradesh treasurer Lalduhawma Zadeng asserted that the party has a firm standpoint on yoga practice and it will go ahead with yoga under the theme �Yoga With Christ�.
�If we come to power by the grace of God and Mizo people in the next Assembly elections in 2018, we would go ahead with yoga practice with the theme �Yoga With Christ�,� Zadeng said. He welcomed the move by State Government to introduce yoga practice in Mizoram as it is deeply related with physical health.
Zadeng also said that while the UNO has declared and observed International Day of Yoga and the practice has assumed international importance, the resistance against it is meaningless.
