BJP likely to challenge ECs order

By Spl CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI, July 5 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely challenge the Election Commissions order rejecting former Lok Sabha Speaker and Presidential candidate PA Sangmas objection, even as Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) extended support to Sangma.

A strategy session held at BJP leader Sushma Swarajs house here to chalk out future course of action was deferred until tomorrow. The meeting that lasted for over two hours considered various options, including the move to approach court against Mukherjees nomination, said a leader who attended the session. The BJP leaders, however, maintained that a final decision would be taken only after they get the copy of the order rejecting their objections to Mukherjees candidature.

We have surprisingly not received the order. We are waiting for the official copy and only then we will move court, said Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy. Earlier, Sangma had written to returning officer VK Agnihotri seeking a copy of his order rejecting the objection against the candidature of Pranab Mukherjee, the ruling UPA nominee.
