GUWAHATI, Feb 24 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today lambasted Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for his alleged double-speak on various crucial issues, including fund allocation and submission of utilization certificates.
BJP spokesperson Bijon Kumar Mahajan said, On one hand, the Chief Minister in his 22-page dossier submitted to the NITI Aayog last year projected the State as one of the poorest in the country, on the other hand his party, in its campaign, is penning an altogether different story. Gogoi must come up with the real picture, instead of misleading the voters ahead of the polls.
Mahajan also dared the Chief Minister to clarify why utilization certificates (2014) worth Rs 10,000 crore were rejected by the CAG. This goes to expose the fiscal management of the government, Mahajan said, adding, There is also discrepancies in the statistics related to fund allocation to the State from the Vajpayee government when the latest White Paper of the State government is compared with the one the Chief Minister had released in 2014.
