BJP denies pre-poll alliance in BTC poll

KOKRAJHAR, June 13 - The State BJP president Ranjit Dass on Saturday said that in Kokrajhar, no pre-poll alliance will take place in view of the ensuing BTC election and the BJP, on its own, will contest in 26 seats.

Talking to mediapersons at the BJP office here, the State BJP president also said that in order to commemorate the fourth year of BJP-led govt in the State and the completion of the first year of the second term of the BJP-led Union government under the leadership of PM Naranda Modi, the BJP will launch a drive called �Jan Sampark Abhiyan� to reach out to 50 lakh families in the State, which will start from June 16 next.

Speaking in this regard, the BJP president clarified that the BJP leaders, including ministers, MLAs and top brass BJP leaders, have been deputed in 126 constituencies of the State. The drive will officially be inaugurated at 11 am, and the leaders will actively start interacting with the families of the State. The party will reach out to 50 lakh families within June 30 to consolidate the activities of BJP workers at the grassroots level and to come closure to the people of the State to develop better public relation, he said.

At the same, BJP president also said that so far, the party is confident of winning 26 seats in the BTC area in which BJP will be contesting, out of the total 40 seats. The BJP will also go for alliance with the second largest political party after the election, if needed, he said.

The State BJP president also revealed that the party is ready for the election. He added that the State government is about to send necessary opinion to the State Election Commission for holding the BTC election.

Replying to a question, the BJP president said that the State government is seriously considering for ways regarding the implementation of last BTR Accord under the able guidance of the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and necessary actions are in progress, he added.

Replying to another question, he said that the BJP is clear on its stand on zero tolerance to corruption at all levels of governance and, hence, every allegation and charge of corruption will be strictly and strongly investigated by the authority concerned.
