BJP demands security in Sattras, Devalayas

GUWAHATI, Oct 8 � The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded adequate security in all the Sattras and Devalayas of the State that are vulnerable to attacks from the anti-social elements.

The party vice-president Bijoya Chakravorty, while strongly criticizing the failure of the government in protecting the Sattras and Devalayas from anti-social, pointed out that the recent months had witnessed a number of cases of thefts and dacoity in many of these religious places located in Dhubri, Barpeta, Goalpara, Kamrup and Morigaon.

Chakravorty, who visited Samoria Sattra said that the activities of the miscreants in this Sattra proved that such mischief was pre planned to hurt the religious sentiments.
