By PRABIR SIL

AGARTALA, June 10 - Thousands of BJP supporters on Saturday strongly demanded implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations for the Tripura Government employees without further delay.

The BJP supporters gathered in front of Rabindra Bhavan and started the Raj Bhavan abhiyan amidst slogans demanding implementaion of the CPC recommendations.

The march was stopped by the police near the Circuit House where a rally was organised. BJP State president Biplab Deb and party prabhari Sunil Deodhar addressed the rally.

If our neighbours could implement it, why the same could not be done for the employees working under Tripura Government? The Left Front Government should extend full benefits to the employees and pensioners without any delay, Deb said.

Deodhar highlighted the Ponzi scam which has fooled lakhs of poor people in the State. If the BJP is voted to power in the 2018 Assembly elections, its government will dig out the culprits. No one will be spared, he warned.

Taking a pot shot at the Left Govenrment, Deodhar said, Why the BJP will bring CBI to investigate chit fund scams? It is the State Government which should recommend for CBI probe.

A delegation of the party led by Deb met Governor Tathagata Roy in the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memrandum strongly demanding for 7th CPC for over 1.5 lakh State Government employees and pensioners.

BJPs memorandum said while most States have decided to accept the recommendations of the 7th CPC, the Tripura Government refuses to accept the same.
