Silchar, March 9: For Kaushik Rai, the BJP Cachar district President who has been named as the candidate from Lakhipur constituency of the district in the Assembly elections, stamping victory in the constituency which has been a Congress bastion is the sole aim in the mission 100+ for his party.

Talking about his campaign preparations, Rai said, "since 2016 all of us in the party at the district have been striving to win the Lakhipur seat which is known to be a Congress stronghold in the district and this time I am confident, people of the constituency will bless us to make the dream of bagging all seven constituencies in our mission for 100+ seats in the election."

When asked about the recent spate of questions and allegations raised by senior leadership of the party including former Union Minister Kabindra Purakayastha regarding allocation of poll tickets, Rai was of the view that the comments and observations from the veteran leader is due to his son's missing out on tickets. "But I am absolutely certain, they will join us in making the larger dream of winning all the seats from the district and strengthen the party." he added.

Meanwhile, sources in the district BJP informed that State Minister and NEDA convener Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is likely to visit Silchar on Tuesday to meet the BJP leaders of the valley ahead of the elections.
