BJP concern over flood-hit people in State

GUWAHATI, July 25 - Expressing concern over the worsening flood situation in the State, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh has directed its members and officials to visit the flood-ravaged areas and extend all

support to the flood-affected people.

Party spokespersons Subhash Dutta, Dilip Saikia and Jayanta Malla Baruah said that the Centre has assured required aid to the State government for flood relief and rehabilitation.

The spokespersons said that because of the ongoing parliamentary session, the Central ministers and MPs have not been able to visit the flood-affected areas of Assam.

�Meanwhile, several BJP MLAs have reached the areas reeling under flood and supervising the relief operations personally,� they added.

On the other hand, another team has been send to take stock of the situation in Majuli and other Upper Assam districts.
