BJP committed to BTR�s development: Sonowal

KALAIGAON, Dec 3 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday took part in the BJP�s campaign for the BTC election in Udalguri district. After arriving at the temporary helipad at Kalaigaon College, Sonowal addressed a nearly 6,000-strong gathering at the election rally held at the college playground.

Campaigning for BJP candidate Diganta Kumar Barua contesting from No.35 Mwdwimari constituency, Sonowal said that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to bringing development in the BTR, and if the BJP is voted to power, it would ensure a dignified life for all people irrespective of caste or community. Once again mentioning protection of �Jati, Mati, Bheti� of the ethnic people, he said, �I am here to guarantee you justice and equality. If the BJP wins, you will see good results. You must protect the future of your families by using the power of the ballot.�

He added that the BTR has been lagging behind due to weak administration in the past 17 years.

The election rally was also addressed by Mangaldai MP and BJP national secretary Dilip Saikia, Guwahati MP Queen Oja, Jorhat MP Topon Gogoi, Sipajhar MLA Binanda Saikia, actor Jatin Bora and singer Bidyasagar, among others.

Security was tight at the venue and nobody, including children, was allowed to enter wearing black garments or carrying black umbrellas or bags.
