BJP bid to widen base in NE

By Spl correspondent

NEW DELHI, April 16 - Making its intention clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on an expanding spree in the North-east, the saffron Party has hailed its victory in Dhemaji bye-election in Assam and wresting of Manipur from Congress.

In the resolution passed on Sunday, the partys National Executive in Bhubaneswar said that victory of the BJP in the assembly by-election in Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Assam proves that more and more people have reposed their faith in BJP and its people centric policies.

The success of BJP in the North Eastern State of Manipur also proves that the trust in policies of the Central government under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also reached the far flung areas of the country. BJP did not enjoy much support in North Eastern states previously but things are changing now. People of the North Eastern states too have shown trust in the policies and schemes launched by the Central Government under the able leadership of the Prime Minister.

In Manipur, during the assembly election before the last one, BJP got a mere 2.1 per cent of the votes and the partys representation in the state assembly was zero. There was not a single BJP MLA in the previous assembly but in the Assembly elections in 2017, BJP got 36.3 per cent of the votes and won 21 seats. At present, there is a government of BJP-led coalition in Manipur.

However, the Prime Minister called on the BJP leaders to maintain caution while making statements and not get carried away with emotions and make untoward remarks.

If there are any complaints, then the matter should be passed on to the party leaders who will convey it to me, he said.

The Prime Minister also called on the BJP to not get too excited over the recent State Assembly elections victory and ensure they keep the momentum going.

The BJP will launch a special campaign for those 120 Lok Sabha seats, which have been out of our reach, he added.

The Prime Minister also hailed the efforts of party President saying that he was the ideal model of an able strategist.

The two days BJP national executive meet concluded this evening in Bhubaneswar.
