BJP begins campaign for Assembly election

TINSUKIA, June 14 � Preparing itself for the next Assembly election, the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has blown it trumpet at Margherita, one of the strong hold of the Congress party.

The meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuba Morcha was organised today by the Margherita sadar and block units at the India Club here. Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Sarbananda Sonowal, Members of Parliament of Nagaon and Dibrugarh, Rajen Gohain and Rameswar Teli respectively, MLA of Dibrugarh, Prashanta Phukon addressed the huge gatherings. Lambasting the present State Government, Sarbananda Sonowal stated that the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress Government had taken the State to a doom and has failed to provide security to the life and property of the people. It has also totally failed in all areas of development. The State Government has even failed to submit the utilization certificates in regards to funds allotted for different welfare scheme by the Central Government, he alleged.

Sonowal further stated that the people of Assam were fed up with the misrule of the present State Government. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, BJP would form the next government in the State for which the youths should extend their hands to the party.

The meeting was also attended by many district level leaders besides the members and office bearers of the local units.
