BJP bags 3 seats, UPPL 2 in Bhergaon

KALAIGAON, Dec 13 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People�s Party Liberal (UPPL) have been able to shine in the BTC election where results were declared on Sunday midnight. In Bhergaon, BJP won three seats while the UPPL bagged two seats and the BPF failed to get a single seat. Bhergaon, which is known as a strong base of BPF, but the voters completely, rejected the party.

According to a latest report, in 31 Khwirwbari (ST), Bhabendra Boro of BJP defeated UPPL candidate Babul Basumatary by a margin of 1,074 votes and BTC EM, Lwmshrao Daimari (BPF) occupied the third position with 11,530 votes. In Bhergaon (ST), Daobaisa Boro of UPPL defeated former BTC Deputy Speaker, Nerswn Boro of BPF by a margin of 6,550 votes where Phatik Kachari of BJP secured the third position. Sanjit Tanti of BJP won from Nonwi Serfang defeating his nearest rival Suresh Tanti of BPF by a margin of 2,151 votes and Krishna Bahadur Giri of UPPL secured the third position with 7,841 votes. In 34 Khaling Duar (ST), Dilip Boro of UPPL won by a margin of 1,197 votes.

Former BTC EM Bonjar Daimari of BPF secured the third place with 12,411 votes in the constituency. In 35 Mwdwibari (Open), Diganta Barua of BJP was declared elected with a margin of 1,520 votes in which former BTC EM, Jagadish Sarkar of BPF secured the third place place.
