SHILLONG, Feb 5 - BJP today announced two more candidates for the Meghalaya Assembly polls. The candidates are Ban Buhai Mukdoh from Mawhati and Field Marshal Mawphniang from Umroi constituency.
Meanwhile, upset over denial of party ticket by BJP, former Education Minister, Manas Chaudhuri today resigned from the party and is likely to contest on a Congress ticket for the South Shillong seat.
The seat has been allotted to sitting MLA Sanbor Shullai by BJP. Chaudhuri in fact joined the Congress, but resigned to join BJP last year.
�I have offers from three parties, including Congress and I will take a decision after consulting my supporters,� Chaudhuri said.
Another aspirant who has ruffled the State BJP is Violet Lyngdoh, sister of State BJP president, Shibun Lyngdoh. Lyngdoh was denied the Khliehriat seat. The ticket was allotted to the sitting MLA Justine Dkhar who joined the party last year. Violet, a sitting MDC from Jaintia Hills Autonomous District, has since resigned from the party and would be contesting on a NPP ticket.
